Zaida - Who we are

Isaq from Kashmir and Maria from Ireland, Zaida's directors, present the perfect partnership. Having met and married in the shadow of the western Himalayas in Kashmir, they set up Zaida in 1998.

Isaq and Maria are committed to the principles of fair trade in everyting that they do. Careful to source all items direct from the people who make them in Kashmir and from like-minded suppliers in the UK. Having realised that traditional crafts can be used to produce contemporary and abstract design Maria and Isaq have developed a unique relatinship with their crafts-people in Kashmir thus fusing 15th Century crafts with 21st Century design.

All Zaida products are made by adults who are paid a fair wage for
the work that they do. At no stage in production are children involved.
